#16: The Florida Tech College Players present...

..."The Drowsy Chaperone" by Bob Martin and Don McKellar!  This is our upcoming musical.  College Players is a student-run organization at Florida Tech that puts on a main production every semester (Fall, musicals; Spring, plays).

I have been making artsy stuff for my PR position with College Players.  Below is some of the stuff I have made for the show (most of it is just alterations of the same logo with I drew with art markers.)

This is the original scan of the logo.  Done with art markers.  I drew it like 20 times because I couldn't seem to get the record player right.

This is the finished show logo.  I drew this with art markers and made the blue bordering with Gimp 2.6  There are some addition edits I did with Gimp to make it larger.

This is my concept for a 10x10 banner that will be put on Florida Tech's Student Union Building (SUB).

This is the 11x17 poster.  Let's not get into what the Copy Center did to them.  *sigh*

If you are interested in College Players and/or what we do, check out http://cp.fit.edu/

To make these advertisements, I used GIMP 2.6, Microsoft PowerPoint 2007, Windows Paint, and Microsoft Publisher (my holy grail).

#6 I figured out how to watermark!

I finally found out how to watermark! I'm using a free program called Gimp 2.6. Here's a piece of my work [While My Guitar Gently Weeps] watermarked. As you can see, my watermark is the tone knob of a Gibson guitar. I made that in PowerPoint and exported it in PDF form and then imported it into Gimp where I messed around (until I got frustrated and called my Software Engineering roommate in to help me).

I really don't like computers. Stuff like this is frustrating.. so I'm giving myself a pat on the back for this one!

Thanks to Dave and Mike!
